Moody Global Ministries Announces the Chapman Center Ground Breaking

Moody Global Ministries announced that they are going to be hosting a ground breaking ceremony this coming Friday, November 18th on Moody’s historical campus in downtown Chicago. See the article below to see the details of the building that the Gary D. Chapman Chair, Dr. John Trent will be occupying once the building is complete.  Pictures below are a recent fundraising trip to Phoenix, AZ where both Dr. Nyquist, President of Moody Global Ministries and Dr. Trent spoke about the new building plans.

Moody Theological Seminary’s Gary D. Chapman Chair and Moody Publishing

Moody Publishing is the arm in which the Gary D. Chapman Chair of Marriage and Family Ministry and Therapy engages with upcoming authors and writing projects to address marriage and family issues.

Some of this work is building relationships with potential and current authors writing with Moody Publishing.  The Gary Chapman Team was in California for one of these trips, visiting authors from Azusa Pacific University and Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton.

Moody Theological Seminary students and faculty attend annual AACC Conference in Addision, TX

Moody Theological Seminary‘s Dr. John Trent was a featured break out speaker at this years AACC Conference held in Addison, TX (just north of Dallas).  Faculty such as Dr. Trent and Dr. Deborah Gorton attended with some of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Students to attend sessions and network with professionals and represented organizations. Dr. John Trent and John Hinkley with Moody Publishing also spent the day with Dewey and Lynn Wilson from Strong Marriages a ministry to build and strengthen marriages through strategic resources that help couples understand one another to better communicate and love one another.  They also got to enjoy a bit of the local food highlights in the area.

Dr. Trent Speaks to Leaders in Spokane, WA

Two weeks ago Dr. Trent traveled to Spokane, WA to talk to leaders at the Spokane campus of Moody Bible Institute.  http://www.moody.edu/spokanelecture/

Moody Radio Northwest hosted him on their morning program- 107.9 FM Day Break with Scott and Dee.

It was a whirlwind trip, but excited for how Dr. Trent continues to be a voice for marriage and families beyond our Chicago campus.

Post Founder’s Week Reflection

During the past month I’ve been reading through the history of D.L Moody, a biography by Kevin Belmonte.   A fascinating read on the man who founded the school we know know as the Moody Bible Institute.  Founder’s Week is celebrated here at Moody Bible Institute the first full week in February, in memory of Moody’s birthday, February 5th.

Students  Moody Bible Institute and Moody Theological Seminary take off classes in order to attend a week long Preaching Conference featuring some of the most innovative leaders in the evangelical community around the world.

Dr. Trent and I spent some time with some of the alumni moms who came to campus to talk about what is happening in our ministry and how they can be involved.  In addition to attending the conference we were able to connect with alumni during the week and enjoy hearing their stories.  A total of 21,000 plus guests were on the campus, so it was a blessing to be a part of the week in some small way.   Happy Birthday D.L. Moody! Your legacy still lives on today.
